THE CX9 I sat on felt nice. However, I have found a CX13 (the model up) for £430 (the next cheapest is £720). It is new but wouldn't be from the lbs but instead from an online shop. Sound like a good deal but I've read that Claud Butler has gone downhill these days, and I haven't heard of the components the CX uses. I don't particulary want to replace them either. I struggle to find any reviews of the Claud Butler CX13 bike whic puts me off  I will get there. In between asking for you help on here I am comparing things online.

Also you guys in the know may say "hold off another week and then there will be something good in the January sales", or "hold off as no doubt a Tricross for £200 will crop up soon".

cx9 gets a good test here http://road.cc/content/review/142195-claud-butler-alto-cx9-cyclocross-bike

i couldnt buy a bike just by reading a review or listening to what people say, the only way to find out is to ride them all

Can the shop source you the cx13? There are certainly benefits over buying online, some online sellers have a bad rep too (ok not all lbs are all that either)
