Whatever happened to cotton drill tracksuits?

It's been a few years since I've been to football training but have recently gone back to having a kick about; with the cooler evenings I decided it was time to get a tracksuit and was searching online tonight for one. There were all kinds of shiny material options, but it would appear that the good old cotton drill material has been consigned to history

Anyone know what went wrong for cotton drill as a material of choice? RIP cotton drill trackies.

Thankfully Puma King boots are still going strong

I had a cricket one when I was at UEA in the 90s. They were shite then.
