Whatever happened to pocket-sized phones?

I've been going cold turkey from smartphones since my Samsung became unchargeable about 3 weeks ago. Have been using a Nokia 101 since then.

Have charged it once in 3 weeks! Not missed the constant distractions of a smartphone at all. It bounces really well too. It's also made me use my "proper" camera more. Only disadvantage is that i've not been able to use RideWithGPS when im on the bike (but borrowed the missus phone in any case)

My current small flip phone.

I only use and like basic phones which take and receive calls and send texts and that's it.
Although I work for myself I can manage quite easily with the most basic of phones.

The advantages are much longer battery life and better reception.

The wife has her smart phones, I pads etc but not for me.

If I want to take a picture I'll use a camera.

If I want to send an email or search the internet I'll use my pc.

Could not and would not go back to a dumb-phone.

Albeit my smart-phone is a camera with a phone built in to it rather than a phone with a camera built in.

I think that was the first phone or very similar I bought my women for a xmas present 1997, it cost me £100 from argos, she was traveling to work train, buses ..she loved it...
Did well then, introduced in 2000 & only on sale for about eight months.
One on ebay for £2000. If you feel like buying her another, for old times sake.

I remember a decade or so ago, pocket-sized phones were fairly common, but now it seems that they're all getting larger. The latest phones will all the usual 'smart' features wouldn't fit in a shirt pocket, and have no chance of fitting in a pants pocket. I predict that the next generation of males will be using handbags, because their phones won't fit anywhere else.
You have pockets in your pants?

Is this an Australian / British language issue, perhaps? I wear business trousers at work (aka 'pants'), and my phone fits nicely into its pockets, because unlike the so-called 'smart' phones, it's actually pocket-sized.

I live all the whizz-bang tomfoolery of a smart phone... I was a slow adopter with mobiles at first, but now I find having a decent computer and a good camera in my pocket suits me down to the ground. Its actual use as a phone is minimal

I'd like a larger smartphone, iPad sized that had an small wired or wireless bit connected to it for the phone part of its use.
Has anyone invented this yet?
