We're on holiday in Malta. Today went by (air-conditioned) public transport to Mdina. The temperature was 45 on chemists sign. Just read about people suffering from hypothermia in Wales. Where has the British summer gone? .

The weather's gone to pot and you should blame all these people flying around Europe instead of travelling by boats and trains and bikes

The jet stream has dropped further South than it was and is directing cool, wet air off the Northern Atlantic. The jet steam generally moves North/South pretty slowly so it seems this weather will last through most of August with the occasional interlude of warmer temperatures.

There's more, numberwise fly over Siberia than europe, it's not warmed up there.

In fact, this summer seems beset with wind - is this summer the worst for windiness (and especially headwind) for a good while?

Jet stream is too far south for this time of the year. Weird stuff happens.

A horrible wind on my ride yesterday gave me all over toothache. This doesn't normally happen till November through to about March. This proves that the weather is crap.
