What's happening with weather.

Wind has been the predominant feature of the last two summers. I just long for a still day. I don't mind cooler temperatures.

Sorry. All my fault. I started windsurfing and am spending less time on the bike. I'm just adjusting the weather to suit with the back garden HAARP I built in the shed.

My memory is that that's been the case for several years. No doubt someone with access to data will be able to confirm or deny.

I should have said a few but my memory certainty only goes back two years. My overall impression is that April, May, June and Sept. are now the better months and I couldn't really find that much about historic wind speeds but I did find this

I've found a historical record for 2015, acknowledging that seemed windier than usual. The graph is of calm days, and the 2015 is incomplete being up to the end of June - but that includes the months when you'd have expected calm weather. Unfortunately the data required to do the analysis isn't free!

Over the last few years, August does seem to have been signed on loan to Autumn. I just hope it doesn't become a permanent deal!

A horrible wind on my ride yesterday gave me all over toothache. This doesn't normally happen till November through to about March

Absolutely hammered it down last night. Rain water pouring down the pavements meant you had to walk with your toes curled up to stop it overlapping your shoes.

Torrential cloud bursts all night but forecast for good riding conditions mid afternoon.

More generally the mornings here in Lancashire have had a distinctly autumnal feel for the last week and horse chestnut trees have started to change colour. I'd put this at 3-4 weeks earlier than usual.

Lake District (eastern side) - poor summer imo. A few short nice spells. Wetter than usual and pretty cool at times too.

Just got back from north Devon and it was cold there this morning; 9.5C at 9.00am and it was raining steady. Was nice the rest of the time we were there.
