There once was a genuine antiques dealer called Robin Bastard from Portsmouth I believe

My daughter went to her first junior School, with a Minnie Cooper (someone didn't think that one through, when discussing baby names...)

And, at the same School, there was a girl named Portia, the Shakespearean spelling, but same pronunciation as the 'fast Beetles'

I'd suggest they were very carefully thought through! Like my friend Tom who named his son Jerry.

As a young copper I went to see a chap. He answered his door and I asked, "Hello Sir, Mr B'stard?"

"No son", he replied, "It's Bastard and I'm proud of it." He was a very nice chap.

I also met an Indian gentleman who was named, and this is God's honest truth, Mr Bollok. Also a lovely chap.

In the Army there was a lad whos surname was John. When the CSM shouted at him "Oi, John", he would invariably reply "yes Dave?", which earned him a tremendous chewing out several times a day.
