I knew an elderly lady called Tess Teakle. Really .

Mitsubishi dealer, amongst others I think. Had showrooms down Roseville Road and at Bramhope?

That'll be it!!
It'll have been the garage between Dyneley Arms (top of 'new' Poole Bank) & the 'Toll-Bar Cottage at the top of Old Poole Bank?
A Subaru/Isuzu dealership for a while (KT Green, or was that Huddersfield)

Wasn't it their dealership on Scotthall Road/Sheepscar Street area too??

My mum worked in a local hotel years ago. One day at reception a guy came in for a room.
"Name please?"
"Mr Twat"
Mum tries to be polite
"Is that T. Watt?"
"Nay, it's TWAT"

Many years ago, my mother moved to the wages department at Northern Dairies and was handing out wage packets to the staff when a man she knew as Ron Mycock came to collect his:

"I'm sorry Ron, I can't find an R. Mycock here, only an A. Mycock."

In a very quiet voice: "Yes, that's me. My first name is Aaron."
