Our dogs are spoiled rotten. They have duvets in their baskets. They can sleep on the bed or sofa if they want to. They get top quality food, gorgeous collars and good quality rain coats for the inclement weather. They don't know it's Christmas, it's just another day to them.

However, as a dog groomer, I'm flat out busy for December as everyone wants their dogs poshed up for Santa Paws.

Lego mindstorms and raspberry pi for the small boy. A new bushcraft knife and firesteel for me. Helen hasn't said what she wants
sorted...just picked up a Tassimo Vivy - she's addicted to her coffee!

The wee guy's early Christmas prezzie arrived today
Mr M thought it would be a complete waste of money but as soon as it was assembled and in place Thomas was straight over to inspect and try it out

For 8 years i've been telling people i'd like a 'Waylon Jennings - What Waylon Says' t-shirt. No-one takes me seriously (as usual). So i've ordered a 'Waylon - flying W' t-shirt for myself

Edit: It'll probably come late. So i'll have to feign ecstasy over a pair of slippers. Again.

A new spine or an operation to repair the old one

Same here... Luckily the op is coming early  fingers crossed, but it will mean the Christmas, wedding anniversary, birthday and new year will all still be bedbound but I will be home for them and hopefully knowing what the future holds at that point for better or for worse (as in as it is now).

Hoping to be back on one of my bikes for Christmas. (the trike is great but its not the same)

ditto but not going to happen. I'm unlikely to even be back on my feet.

Would like to put some bike related items on my Christmas and birthday lists but daren't just incase things don't work out. otherwise there seems to be little I want and less that i need. The trike may get added to one of the lists if the above op has not gone to plan or the nerve damage is permanent. I have to get mobile again somehow!

Sad news, Tommy was so happy with his prezzie he brought us a gift this morning
We've had a lovely wee Robin visit us every weekend for the last few weeks' hops down the path from the shed, appeared every Sat/Sun morning and watched it's antics when making brekky, sadly no more.
RIP wee one.

Good wishes to you for a speedy and successful recovery. Pleeeeease check out your surgeon before he touches you. Don't want to scare you but.
I had a botch job in home town and had to travel further afield for a remedial job, happily worked out ok for me though even if left with some long term issues, just get on with things and enjoy life.
Please still enjoy Christmas, birthday, etc just in a temporarily different way. This time next year now will be a dim and distant memory, make plans just now for something you want to do when you feel better, best wishes. X

Same here not for me though but for my friend who is suffering from a compressed spine after falling from a horse.

Yep, been there, loved riding, but horses = fight or flight animal, weighing about a tonne with a walnut sized panic brain, cycling is a bit safer but, sorry, not as much fun!!
