Is that the right way to ask the question? Anyway, i was in the barber's shop across the road today and in walked a customer with his nephew. Nothing unusual about that you might say but the fellow is 102 years old on Boxing Day! He was all there as they say. No confusion or anything like that. He was chatting about his still involvement with Accrington Cricket Club and he also said he goes on the occasional bike ride in summer! I think he must be the oldest person i've seen in the flesh.

How old was the uncle then?
My brother has an aunt younger than himself.

My nursery school teacher who became a family friend lived to the grand age of 102 but the last few years she was bed bound, but not bad for someone who survived polio as a child which had left her fairly frail throughout her life. She was a lovely lady who adored children though she never had any of her own.

'Who', not 'what'.

Yes but if i was to ask who is the oldest, wouldn't that mean you have to name them?

Used to work in the EBME dept for a trust that had a psycho-geriatric hospital within it's remit. During one visit to service kit there they were having a 113th birthday party for one of their patients. True enough there was an ełderly woman sat in front of a flaming cake trying in vain to blow out all the candles. I felt obliged to go over and wish her a happy birthday .
