What definition of 'recent' are we using?

If it's in the last ten I'll go for...um...hm, maybe disk brakes?

Also, I suspect that many 'innovations' of even the last ten years have actually been done before, it's just that stuff comes and goes. I suppose certain materials have come to the fore - aluminium, carbon, Titanium.

Not that I make much use of them....

Oh, hang on. Best recent cycling innovation?

With MTBs, I think it's a case of evolution - stuff like full suspension, disc brakes etc were all invented yonks ago, but the difference is that they actually work now. Proper mud tyres (like trailrakers) are fairly new thoug, and great.

Alright then: 'recent' means going from just before clipless (whenever that was) to the present.......obviously.
This therefore excludes wheels and derailleurs.
When/whose were the first clipless pedais?
Anyone?

LED lights...

[rear LED lights for convenience and fit-and-forget run time; front LED lights more recenty for having high wattage / long battery life / lightweight]
