I've had the payout from the insurance company so my damaged mountain bike is sat in the garage getting in the way, what's the best way of getting rid of it? Sell it whole or break it down?
It was a well spec'd bike, the only reason it was written off was the frame, according to the bike shop is 4mm out of true and both wheels are buckled, but that still leaves good forks, hyd brakes shifters, mechs, handle bars, stem, seat post, hubs that are all spot less and less than 1000miles old.
My thoughts are that if sold whole the whole story is presented, plus someone with a jig might be able to straighten the frame.
If parted, I might raise marginally more cash, but I'm not sure I've got the time to invest to strip it.
What would you good people do?
