Sorry Snorri I tried to correct the error but couldn't as I had a window come up saying that there was already a poll with that title (Shaun if you could fix it I would be gratful). Thanks for all your replies it would seem that for most of you that use it 15-20 miles is about the shortest distance you would travel without applying cream first.

Did a few 60 milers with Lusso shorts absolute agony, forked out on some better shorts (Santini) no more probs, appears to have something to do with seems, my advice buy the best you can afford.

Have never needed it yet. Just make sure there's a Brooks B17 on the bike. Don't do it these days but used to often spend up to 14 hours riding with no problems in that area.

Might need it one day though.
