I know many things around the world get carted about by bike, but what have you seen or carried that is a little out of the ordinary?

How about a saucepan of curry, in one hand ?

However I failed to negotiate a dangerous chicane installed by the council, possibly intented to inconvenience cyclists (something to do with a no-cycling sign perhaps)

Kept the pan upright, though i sprawled along the concrete.

We had had an "aperetif" (or 6) before the curry got fetched...

Do I win

I cycled to work with my turbo over my shoulder a few years ago.
It was quiet at work, it was winter, i thought i will set it up in one of the compressor sheds...kept me occupied for a while.
Bloomin uncomfortable carrying it (and moderately stupid/dangerous)

Commuted to work once with a wheel in each hand on the drops...that was hard work on the wrists (and moderately stupid/dangerous)

Told this one before, but i was walking along in a park one summers day, people milling around. I heard a 'thump' followed by another, and another, increasingly fast, reaching a drum roll.
I looked round to see a guy with a sack of potatoes across his crossbar, which had split open as he was riding along.
He's stopped as they emptied...looked back to see a 10 yard trail of potatoes,...then rode off leaving them where they sat.

A full size cello.
My young son decided that 'we' could carry it to school on my back, whilst cycling to school, uphill[steep] and in a fierce headwind.

I had visions of toppling backwards off the bike onto the road and like a woodlouse, waggling my arms and legs about trying to turn over.
He bopped about on his BMX, telling me to 'hurry up,mum, you're making me late for school!'
Needless to say that cello is now walked or driven around

I was going to mention a set of skis, but that's pathetic next to a cello...

There used to be an old bloke that rode around High Wycombe when i was a young whipper snapper (a while ago) he was obviously a window cleaner. He had various tubes attatched to his bike for poles etc, hooks for buckets and that his lack of financial overheads soon became more obvious as he started attaching a small trailer to his bike for a ladder and other stuff. However he had obviously hit the big time when in the distance you could see him pulling what resembled an empty trailor tent with more scaffolding than u would normally see on a 7.5 tonne truck

Back then he was just the local nutty window cleaner now i actually sit there thinking i struggle and moan about riding in to a head wind he must of been uber fit lol
