What's this caterpillar?

My youngest just brought it back and she'd very keen to know what it is so she can feed it the right things. Any bug fans out there?

Looks like one of the many Hawk Moths...ahh...beaten! It may be attracted to your fuschias.

It is a Hawk Moth. We studied them in school Gawd knows how many years ago.

It's a witchetty grub, get her to eat it like a bush tucker challenge.

Thanks all. Apparently they eat tomato leaves, so we're covered. She's refused to eat it.

We found a similar one last year which was a privet hawk moth caterpillar apparently. It burrowed into the grass where presumably it spent winter underground and emerged this spring. Though we missed it popping put again sadly.
