The price analogy is fair tbf, it makes ypu realise how cheap petrol is, in some cases, almost as cheap as water. Doesnt seem much of a consolation when youve always tried to limit your useage

I remember someone putting it this way:

Imagine if someone came to you and said: "I want you to pull a cart containing me and my four friends & our luggage fifteen miles to our destination, and I'll pay you €3,50 for the energy you use" You'd tell them to pisch off in no uncertain terms. That's how cheap petrol really is.

Yesterday's prices in Dumbarton for diesel/petrol were 199.9p/179.9p.

Weirdly here in Plymouth, at the weekend the cheapest (Morrisons) was £1.92 for Diesel, and the most expensive (Esso) was £1.99

But this morning, Morrisons was £1.82. I don't know if the others have dropped overnight as I didn't see them. But they seem to go up and down like a feather in the wind

but the supermarkets here have gone up to 167.99 for petrol
Esso - which is normally the same or a penny cheaper - is 169.99

driving back from Northumberland it was generally around 172.99 at the cheapest

Local Esso hit 200.9 this weekend for diesel. Filled up earlier in the week for 193.9. Hopefully won't need more fuel until late October.

I did manage to avoid some of these increases though. I've made about 10 trips to my friends house to help with some garden landscaping; and he filled up the car for me to reimburse my travel

Saw 199.9ppl for diesel at the Jet station in Watton, Norfolk as I biked past this afternoon. Most expensive locally over the weekend was 195.9ppl but did see 189.9ppl in Ipswich (and you get divi as it's a CoOp owned station).
