Don't know the names of any classics, but I often play Classic FM in the car and really like the soothing classical music, without loads of DJ's endlessly talking.
My main beef with Classic FM is their insistence in playing Gregorian chant with 157 verses. That when I swap to JazzFM.

Here's a few of my favourites

Bach, St John Passion: nearly two hours of utter perfection

Schubert's 9th Symphony: a rather good Vienna Phil concert conducted by Sir John Elliot Gardener. The Vienna Phil horn section always play an unusual and old fashioned style of horn which adds something I think. I have maybe 6 or 7 recordings of this, some good, some bad, but this one one youtube does have a good swing to it, and Schubert does need to swing

Rite of Spring. Here's a linky to a ballet performance - gig proper starts 4 mins in. One of those pieces which changed music. Before and after the rite is a boundary in music history.

And another piece which changed music into before and after. Beethoven's 3rd symphony
