Arch said:I saw a programme on telly where a group of flying-phobics went on a course at Heathrow. They had a day of talks from pilots and so on, and some relaxation techniques and stuff, and then were taken on a short flight. Everyone made it, even though one woman got on the plane, then off, then back on the plane, determined to make it, in tears to start with and beaming by the end. I wonder if those courses still run?
I did one that was run by Virgin airlines about 10 years ago. I was terrified of flying, more to do with my fear of heights, and it's a one day course. The morning is what is described above and the afternoon is a flight on a 737 with a commentary by the flight crew on what is going on.
It was brilliant and well worth the £250.
