No blighters gonna pull out on me over the winter period!

I've 3 front lights 1 flashing / 1x helmet  - they work a treat when a cars pulling up to a junc. and your passing, as you can look at them (to the left) & they see the light looking at them

And 2 flashing LED - 1 big 1 small..

Out last night & you can feel that respect - from all the cagers

If your lights are reflecting off street signs then I feel your lights are bright enough

Much the same as you, yenrod: at the front, one steady and one flashing on the bars, one helmet mounted "Tesco Special" for use in the woods. One flashing and one steady at the back also. Plus quite a lot of reflectives stuck on various bits of the bike.

I always think the "wtf is that?" approach is good: if they're wondering what you are, at least they're paying attention.

small flashing red LED lamp on seat post - same lamp but with green LEDs replaced by white inside rucksack for emergeny use.

front twin LED emitter system bright enough to melt the eyes of car drivers; certainly makes them behave differently - see my post about DIY LED lamps.

You could have a revolving amber beacon on a 4ft pole off your rack and you still wouldn't get 'respect' from ahlf the idiots out there, they'd just be wondering where the bright flashy light was coming from.

I am not a member, I am a free man !!!!!!
On the front:

1 x set of AY UPs - for when I need to actually see where I am going
1 x Electron Nano 9 (9 Led Light) - for when the ay ups are a bit overkill, got this yesterday and I like it.
1 x Cheapo 3 Led Flashing Jobby - backup

On the Rear

1 x Mars 4.0 - very bright, use it in flashing mode
1 x Cateye TL LD600 - use this one in strobing mode
1 x 3 Led Cheapo Job - backup

Too much, but there you go. Road signs are lit up hundreds of metres away. Retina burned a fair number of peds and marshalls on the Blackpool Ride the Lights, despite there being all the 'fairy lights' switched on....

Ive always, as a joke, wanted a halogen lamp off a house (on the front) and an amber coloured beacon off a road-sweeper or such like (on the back) on the bike and the reaction..........

I was just about to say that I switch the light off when I go to bed, because I'm a big boy and don't believe in monsters under the bed.

Then I read the OP and realised that I had misinterpreted the title

from a motorists perspective, I like helmet mounted flashy rear lights, they show up really well especially in heavy traffic.
From another motorists perspective. While a flashing light is useful I'm sick to death of flashy rear lights with no solid light visible so that take 5 times longer to work out where a cyclist let alone the direction & speed thus taking the attention I should be directing to the rest of the road.

I'm also starting to get really pissed off with cyclists with extremely bright lights aimed high which basically blind someone in a low sports car forcing me to go to main beams just so I can see the road well enough to slow down to a safe speed. So if you aim your very bright light high don't get narky with the Lotus Exige/Elise driver who goes to main beams, you've probably just blinded the driver & they just want to know where the road is.

On my bike I run with 3 rear lights, one flashing & a solid handlebar mounted front light. All reasonably bright but the whole set costs less than £130.

When it gets proper dark: B&M IQ Cyo / Shimano dynohub, Dinotte rear light on constant mode. When it's dusky I put the Dinotte on slow flash. I've got a front Dinotte in case I need to take one of the other bikes out.
