hang on does anyone not know In the highway code it states:

Safe driving and riding needs concentration. Avoid distractions when driving such as:

• loud music (this may mask other sounds)
• trying to read maps
• starting or adjusting any music or radio
• arguing with your passengers or other road users
• eating and drinking
• smoking

if someone does something wrong and you say something back it would lead into to argument and therefor you would both be breaking the law right? One of the reasons if someone does something stupid to me I just accept it and ignore it because of above ^

It says 'avoid', thus it's advisory, not an obligatory 'must' so no, it's not breaking the law, just inadvisable. Not getting into a row with others, esoecially car drivers is sensible

As a young cyclist, new to the roads, you should have a read of a book called Cycle craft, get from Amazon or try the library

If no luck at library, Pop a wanted ad in the classifieds, someone might be able to part with one for the cost of postage. Otherwise, I'm sure it's under a tenner on Amazon.

IAM's Advanced Cycling book is by the same author and contains much of the same content, in case that's easier to find.
