I have no idea about their legality, but found them to be pretty dim (as far as I could determine from looking at my reflection in convenient windows while cycling along), and I prefer the reflective sidewalls on my new tyres. I'd be interested to hear if you have a different experience with them.

I've got reflective tyres, bodyguards, extra reflective tape on rack, forks and pedals. Plus 2 front and 2 rear lights. Just thought something extra couldn't hurt.

That geek shop does them, Maplin.

I'm not too sure about having novelty lights on bikes and the riders themselves. I see people with flashing lights on their shoes, helmets, arms and bikes and think it makes them look a bit vulnerable. I prefer a simple but effective combination of a powerful white front light, a powerful red rear light and either wheel reflectors(the ones usually fitted on less than a grand bikes)or reflective tyre walls.

The kids have them fitted on their bikes. When they work they are reasonably effective. I would rather get run over than have them on my bikes.

Hi, what colour, width and length did you go for. I'm thinking of getting this for my bike, do you think it would come off with ease when its not dark anymore (Spring)?
I use Silver/25mm, and cut to size as necessary. First time i think I went for ~2M which wasn't enough by the time I'd applied to other family bikes too; second time may have gone for 5M (£5.49). I've not had any problems - I tend to just 'leave it on' though, as I potentially do dark rides in Summer too. Find that narrower long strips (cut lengthways) work best on seat stays. I'd also make sure surfaces are clean before applying tape.
