Break not brake. There is a world of choice in wheels - how much do you want to spend? Hope Hoops are excllent.

They are strong but heavy. You won't find anything better with your budget tho. R 501s can be found for around £70, might as well just get those.

What's a wear limit?
Every time you brake you're wearing a bit of the rim away (as well as the pads), so after many many miles the rims will become so thin they are unsafe - the wear indicator lets you know when it's time to scrap the rims.

As for them being any good, the answer is simply that they will be far better than the ones you have on your bike currently. But being as you can spend £2k+ on a pair of wheelset!!

Wow I never knew that, I wouldn't ever spend that amount of cash on some wheels if they wear but thanks
