Hey,
having just installed a computer on my bike it wants to know how big my wheel is in inches. Im guessing its 27" but im not sure. Its a standard wheel on a 700x23c tyre. Off a gt gtr series 4. Im not sure what measurment it wants so i havent measured it, is it the diameter? Is it a 27?? Fast answers would be appreciated as i want to ride asap
Cheers,
Mike

Is there not a table of sizes with the instructions that give you the measurements and how to program the computer?

If you want to be more accurate you can measure the circumference of the wheel your self. As different tyres and wheels have different depths.

If you put the wheel/valve hole on the bottom and then roll it along till it comes round again then measure the distance, if the wheel has a tyre on it you should sit on the bike and do it,thats what it says in my instructions anyway

Best and most accurate way:
Get some tippex, put a blob on the tyre, cycle a few metres. Measure distance between tippex marks on the ground in mm.
This give an exact circumference, including the effect of your weight.
Putting in a wheel size like 700 or 26" would be pointless as tyres vary so much, imagine the difference between a child's or ladies road bike with a 26" wheel, and a full on mudplugger MTB with 26" x 3" tyres.

No, unlike other computers i have had it simply asks for the wheel size in inches. It does not allow you to change the input mode (mm). Thankyou, i shall do a roll and measure that and see what it comes to. Cheers,
Mike

The rolling method will only work for you if you covert the circumference into the diameter. This is also presuming that you can enter decimal places for the wheel size. If you can't then it is pointless.
