Some 3-piece hubs can be horribly flexible when climbing out of the saddle, with excessive brake rub. i need to swap out a BHC Airlite for a Campag Record LF hub because of this. I can't ride up hills!

This may be just a bit inappropriate for this site but your reference to perpetual motion prompts me to include a shot of some modern SE Slayer hubs (Taiwanese ye Gods ... with sealed bearings that are the smoothest things on this earth other than butter) I may one day lace up to something equally blingy. Thinking a mix of cherry red and gold. I must take some tablets and have a lie down now. View attachment 382379

OMG! The thought of gold anodised hubs and gold anodised rims! To me, that would be the cycling equivalent of the Arabs gold leaf wrapped supercars that they go posing in down the Kings Road....:eek:
