how about Shimano RS20'S
They have served me well over the past year on a 35 mile round commute through the potholed, crap strewn streets of SE London.

Shop around would be my first advice to the OP, most places are cheaper than wiggle these days. Maybe also spoke count should be considered, I've got the Khamsin on my summer bike and they have stayed perfectly true despite their low spoke count but I'm a relatively lightweight rider. When I was looking for new wheels in that price bracket, Aksium, Fulcrums and planet x Model b were considered; I opted for model b's as they were the lightest and cheapest but I can't comment on their robustness mine are still sitting in the box to be fitted in Spring; my heavier brother has had them for a year though and he gets on fine with them.

I got my Shimano RS30s from Merlin Cycles for £140. Not let me down yet. You get a slight cricketlike thrum from the bladed spokes, but very quiet freewheeling!

I swear by my Halo Aerorage. About as bombproof a road wheel as you can get IME.
They're slightly over your budget but it'd be money very well spent

Another vote for the Halo Aerorage. I have one on the back of my Kinesis Granfondo Racelight since September 2011 and it is going well. I weigh in around 90 to 95 kg and do around 300 to 350 km a week on the rim, well in a good week  I purchased mine from Wiggle.

Just keep in mind it may not come with a skewer.

You can get Fulcrum Racing 5s for that budget, better bet than the 7s (not that those are bad...).

I've had Planet-X Model B's for 2 years now. I'm rubbish at avoiding potholes, and have done the occasional bunny-hop over branches etc. I was concerned about the aluminium freehub body, but since changing to Sram cassettes (with shallow splines), I've nothing to complain about. Bearings are still in good shape too.

Another vote for Model-Bs. I've put a few thousand kms on mine, in all weathers, complete with potholes, speed bumps, and even a dead animal [1] that I didn't spot in time. No problems at all - they are still go round as well as they ever did. I also like the fact that they aren't covered in logos and graphics. On several occasions I've thought about upgrading them, but after about five minutes of thinking, I always come to the conclusion that there's nothing actually wrong with them.

[1] It was *so* dead that I couldn't identify it from the bits that remained.

Cheers for all the comments....I looked into the Shimano RS10's & 20's, the Fulcrum ones and Mavic Aksiums - plumped for the Mavics in the end.

2 reasons - I have a Boardman Team as well that came with Mavics (only done 300 or so miles on them) and they feel really smooth, plus was told they're bomb proof! So not for the Boardman Potsy, for my Spez Allez 16 (I call her Trigger!). Number 2 - got a really good deal off a trader on eBay, £140 the pair. Nearest challenger was Wiggle at £155.

So, my silver rimmed Boardman wheels have been transferred to the silver Trigger, and the black rimmed new Aksiums compliment the Boardman!

My wife thinks I'm nuts........aren't we all?
