Wheels have I got this correct?

Think my recently 'rediscovered' old Dawes Flair needs a new front wheel.

I have re-trued wheels in distant past but even If I managed this, the localised damage on rim is too bad.

So tyre size is 27 x 1.25" - realise that this is not the actual wheel diameter but I have measured the wheel and it looks like 630 BSD which would be right for 27" wheel

The outer rim measures 25mm/1" although the tyres fitted are 1.25"

Went looking on ebay for 27" x 1" but they all seem to be 27" x 1.25"

Checked one add for a 27" x 1.25" and it gave the outer rim width as 25mm.

So is this right? the outer rim width on a 27" x 1.25" is really 25mm/1" so I do need what would be described as a 27" x 1.25" wheel

Thanks

Right so have now referred to original catalogue (on Cycle Chat) so not much doubt 27 x 1.25".
Is there anything else I need to look out for to ensure compatibility? - accepting that a new modern replacement is going to look different.

Thanks.

I think you mean 27x1 1/4" aka 32-630 tyres and maybe 630-17 rims. Tyre size is usually about 1.8 times the inner rim width.

Fractional and decimal tyre sizes are not interchangeable. In general, fractional is European and decimal is USA. It causes more trouble with 26 inch though, which can vary from 559 to 597mm BSD.
