Hi all just returned from my night ride and have snapped a spoke miles from Home sods law need help and advice on buying a new road bike back wheel for a heavier rider 100+ kg many thanks in advance

Why not get the old one fixed? How many spokes is it? What make and model?

It's a shimano r500 was a cheap one

I'm over the 100kg mark myself & for a few years I run on FSA RD60 wheels, not expensive, but seemed to be able to cope with a heavier rider. There's a new pair on ebay at the mo for £125, bargain! There was a pair in the classifieds on here a while back, but I'd guess they've been sold by now. If your budget will stretch a little further may be worth looking at handbuilts, that's what I'm running now & opted for 32 spokes, the extra weight penalty worth the piece of mind for strength to me
