Hi im new to this forum im from cornwall and just come back into biking after a 3 year break college got in the way .

Just pulled both my old bikes out the shed put air in the on of the bikes tyres, and noticed it was rubbing on the mud guard. So span the wheel to see if it was buckled. on doing that i noticed the rim is fine but the tyre seems to be boldged on one part of the tyre. Can this happen if the bike is left over time?

Cheers Tom

At a guess the tyre has perished and is weak at this point and is manifested as the bulge. Replace!

Yeah. The tyre wall rubber can deteriorate over time especially if it gets sunlight on it. I suppose the shed had a window.

Yes the shed does have windows. Thanks for that i will get looking for some new tyres.

Is there any specific tyres you can reconmend the tyres are 26x1.95 i will be mostly riding roads and tow paths

Cheers Tom

Then something 1.65 to 1.95 with a smooth, slightly textured tread or a central ridge.
