When using web browsers, don't be signed in to Google+

I found something interesting today: my web browsing was painfully slow, with web pages taking ridiculously long times to load. I noticed that prior to any web page loading, there were status messages saying that some Google-related statistics sites were being loaded, and I realised that Google was keeping an eye on me.

I signed out of Google+, and voila! Instant and dramatic increase in the speed of web page loading.

Hah! You think you've escaped? Google is always watching you. It's (supposedly benign) Big Brother made real. You think just because your browsing's speeded up a bit Google isn't watching every move you make, every step you take, every Police song you listen to...
