When you first started riding could you do 330 miles in 48 hours after 30 days training?

and if he fails he has to shell out $600,000 on a wager.

He's 35, had two heart attacks, does weight lifting (a good start) and has now got Lance Armstrong offering advice.

So, in your first month of cycling, could you safely knock out 165 miles for two days on the trot or have you just remembered how much your saddle area used to hurt!?

(For info I couldn't, I rode from London to Eastbourne after a few months and slept for 13 hours straight when I got there. The thought of doing another 260 miles after that didn't bare thinking about.)

If Armstrong is helping him, he will use EPO so he should do it.

I haven't ever ridden that far, plenty of Audaxers do though. I mostly don't like to challenge myself much, just like riding- although sometimes I happen to like riding a fairly long way (and I do this on the back of relatively short rides, although of course I have some experience of longer rides even if I might not have done any for a while)

I guess he'll have good advice on bike setup because those are going to be long days.

Presumably he has plenty of time to train (and rest), the training program looks sensible. I'll wager he does it.

When I first started cycling I did a 100 mile ride within a month - I was 12 years old at the time ^_^

edit: when I got my first 'racer' and joined a club - I started cycling a long time before then and had done 20-30 mile rides on my mums Raleigh Shopper

I reckon I could've done it if I'd had a strong enough desire to do it.

At least, I like to think I could've done it.

I did my cycling proficiency at primary school so I'd have been about 11(?).Wish I'd still got the badge, that would look cool on my Carradice ^_^

Certificate, you could probably find a badge on ebay sometime.I've got a copy of my certificate on a hard drive somewhere.
