Where can I buy a thimble?

Update: I found my thimble - in Sainsbury's - and used it to help me fix my shoe. The stitching had broken and one of the seams was coming apart. It now seems to be sound again. Hooray! (D'you s'pose today's youngsters would ever think to fix a shoe? Me neither. ) Anyway, result!



(I still miss Woolworths.)

That's a milliner

Precious few of those around too. Young people just don't go into the trade anymore - even Chris Tarrant lamented this sorry state of affairs "Who Wants to be a Milliner?" was his plaintive cry.
