Shed 1 = 1 bike and tools
Shed 2 = Car cleaning stuff and dog stuff
Shed 3 = Lawn mowers, old bikes, fishing tackle and everthing that wont fit in shed 1 and 2
Shed 4 = Cant remember -not been in it for years
Shed 5 = Not built yet but the contents of Shed 1 will go in it
Shed 1 = When shed 5 is built some of the contents of Shed 3 will go in it,therefore the statement above "and everything that wont fit in Shed 1" will not be true

I must be something of a Shedette,or a Shedulike,maybe a ShedsRus ^_^

The downstairs room that would be the main living room in a normal household, has become a bike shed, workshop, gym and storage area in mine! The displaced living room is now featured in what would normally be the main bedroom on the first floor, and the bedroom is now in the second floor attic room, along with my home office area which takes up one corner of the room.

I see this as assigning the correct level of priority to my bikes, and secondary matters such as sitting around watching TV or sleeping are given the consideration they deserve!

Respect.

However, my Mrs does not quite agree.

I used to keep them in the basement, but now in a shed.
Perhaps i could make use of our air raid shelter and put them in there.

Well, I might be absoltuely no clearer about where to put my bike, but the insight into what you guys are like as individuals is HUGE!

What is bad is that in thinking about where to put my bike, I have started to consider that there will be a second one, so maybe I should get a shed after all. Big enough for two bikes. Then I thought what will my second bike be? (First one hasnt even arrived yet.) Went online and decided I need to save a grand to get a Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Alu Xenon.

We are getting a Bike Cave (Amazon) but currently one lives in the lounge and one in the bathroom!

Am liking the idea of the bike tent, but security a factor?
Why do people keep saying about the cold? Do you just not want your babies to get chilly, or is there a real reason bikes shouldn't get too cold?!

Our hall is only 36" wide but the bike fits there very well. Two would be a non-starter. If we still had a buggy for the kid, it would be a problem as well. Look into a bike hoist like this...

Lidl do a similar one for £5-6 and they are pretty well made. You need to have quite a large floor-to-ceiling height, but your stairwell may be tall enough.

Good luck anyway.

Nowhere near big enough.

Speaking of "cool", you asked if a cold bike was a bad thing. I think that the answer is that the cold itself is not a problem. Outside however, the atmosphere tends to contain more water vapour than that inside. When it gets cold outside, you effectively get dew that will condense as water on any surface. This means that bikes stored undercover outside tend to suffer from problems associated with moisture.

I think.

I built my GF a shed so I could steal her garage for when I'm staying there! At the flat our building has a sort of basement lockup which is full of old rotting bikes with no air in the tyres. About 3 of us use it.

In the garage the 2 hybrids hang from red rubber coated hooks from wilko's by the back wheels. Keeps them out of the way of the 3 year old who likes screwdrivers!
