I get away with by making sure that SWMBO turned herself into SWNNLBO!

(She still comes round and gives me grief about it every now and then, but I play the "Madam - you are neither my wife nor my girlfriend and this is not your house!" card and there is no arguing with that ...)

She has the spare bedroom for all her shoes, hanbags, skirts, dresses, boots, and all the other crap women have, so it's only fare i have a room for all my lovely stuff.

Mine are hung by their wheels from the garage ceiling. I use those big plastic-coated hooks that you get from B&Q and Evans.

Mine stay in the garage but I know someone who keeps a 1000cc superbike in his sitting room.

I keep threatening to make one of these. Until then however, the bike lives in the kitchen.

When we moved out of our rural house to an apartment in town, one of the criteria was that it had to have an extra bedroom for the bikes. We managed to find an apartment that has a bedroom/study type room, and the entrance to it is off the living room and right by the front door. Perfect! It means we don't have to push the bikes through the apartment and risk damaging them on doorframes and stuff.

We only keep our expensive bikes in the apartment - the room is also store room/gym/bike workshop and a bit tight for space - so the cheap mountain bikes live in the communal garage in the basement.
