I allowed myself to be talked into trying to repair my aunt's dishwasher. I can see quite clearly that the transformer on the main PCB is ****ed. I tried RS and the others to find a match for the transformer part/model number and couldn't find one so have started looking for the entire PCB. The only one I can find so far is priced at almost £200 + carriage, which seems a trifle expensive to me.

Where is a good place to look for spares for domestic appliances?

Try asking on somewhere like DIYnot.com

Otherwise I've found ebay to be cheapest for washing machine parts etc.

That's excellent. It's likely there somewhere. I just need to do some browsing.

I got a Zanussi main switch for my washer / dryer from; Spares Group, Commerce House, 9 Bursledon Road, Hedge End. SOUTHAMPTON SO30 0BP.

If you're sure it's just the transformer that's burnt out - why not give a local electronic repair(Hi-Fi/TV's etc) company a call it may be your cheapest option.(possible £20/£30 min charge + parts)
Some(not all) of these boards will be generic and used on many appliances, they may source you a cheap replacement if they can't repair yours.

Good luck!!!
