I'm sure I've noticed more cyclists on my commute now it's cooled down slightly. I think this weather is better for cycling, I don't end up sweating to death in the heat. It's just a shame it has rained heavily twice this week already, and more forecast tomorrow. My shoes will never dry!

I come from South Woodford and it is pretty dead until I reach the CS3.
I use part of the CS2 (turn off at Burdett Road/Mile End Station), part of CS3 and part of the CS8 (I carry on along Chelsea Embankment and then loop back through London towards Ilford).

In the mornings the CS8 heading towards Chelsea embankment is nice and quiet, but when I loop around at the end of Chelsea Embankment and head back onto the CS8 there can be a few cyclists about, but it then goes dead again as I come to the CS3, and head back up to the CS2, and then to Ilford for work.

I suspect it is the time of the day, as I leave at 05:45 and aim to get to work for 08:20.

When the spring/summer comes around I would probably see more cyclists about, but by then I will probably return back to some of the routes I like through the country roads around Epping (nice roads in sunshine, but really good lights needed from this point on, so less attractive), so I will never actually see them as I will be on less well travelled roads.

Stuck on the M4 Tolgarth roundabout and was supposed to be in the city NOW!

Today has made my mind up to sell the Triban 3 and buy a decent folding bike!

Start from Euston and loop through minors to join Strand outside the Savoy then Trafalgar Sq, Mall and Horseguards Rd to Westminster. Definitely quieter since the end of Aug/September heatwave. Even Uni students being back doesn't seem to lift volume much. Taken voluntary redundancy from work and finish at end of November. Will try and keep on until then but don't much fancy Trafalgar Sq in the dark.

Had a look at a lovely white H3L at cycle surgery. I live the clean lines of the brommie. C bag looks big enough to carry my laptop and accessories.
Just need a ride and compare it to the 20" tern D8

Ah, folding bikes, there is a certain appeal, as you can fold them up and take them on public transport more easily, and would probably more acceptable for storing in offices.

The Brompton looks nicer IMO

Oaf on a Bike
The bike racks at work are getting easier to find a space in the morning. I'm kinda looking forward to braving the really cold weather with my marathon winters
