The problem is that cycle videos get microscopically analysed to death and the cyclist that posted it ends up getting the blame even if it's not their fault.
They would probably get a more balanced opinion on a motoring forum.

I was thinking about getting a helmet camera eventually but scared to death about posting on this forum.
Most of us that film, and upload onto the tube, don't post them here.

He's buying everyone that comes to Pedal on Parliament a drink! The PoPScotland Twitter feed confirmed it to me ;-)

He's continuing his campaign to push for safer cycling - I think he's been involved in another campaign with FirstBus since he left, as well as a throw-away comment on his blog turning into the PoP28 event. He's been the guest on a number of radio shows, as well as being in a three-way discussion on the Scottish evening news on cycling safety.

He may be knocked on here, but he's doing a LOT of work for the benefit of cyclists in Scotland who want to see improvements to facilities, behaviour and attitude. He may be loud in his videos, but he's using that voice for good.

I'll tell him you're all asking for him / hoping he'll stay away (delete as appropriate) when I'm out for a drink with him, HJ, Telemark and a few others at the weekend.

Some of us who wear cameras don't post the videos at all (well, apart from one on Cycle Video Day ). You can wear one for your own peace of mind in the event of an accident, or maybe to look at your riding and see how you can improve, it doesn't mean that you have to post anything anywhere.

At least he is doing something to create better facilities/safety etc for cyclists which is more than can be said for some of the trolls on here who used to wind him up and flame him each time he posted a video or posted. I think he got sick of posting on here and decided he could use his time more profitably elsewhere where his efforts would be more appreciated. All power to him.

Pinged him earlier to see what he was up to, pretty much correct there crankarm, he does send his regards and says he made lots of friends on here.
But he won't be coming back.

I was on the receiving end of one of his videos; he was pretty derogatory about me without knowing anything about me not that really cared. It works both ways. Nevertheless, I miss him on the forum as he was always interesting.

I first saw his videos years ago after he was featured on the radio 4 news... so i went to seek his videos and after an hour I thought "Gordon Brittas on a Bike"
:laugh:Had to google this, it's so adept! Nothing against him personally, he probably is really nice, but his videos almost put me off the idea of commuting by bike, when I first started.

Heh heh - I'm soooo going to call him that at the weekend. Now you say it, he DOES have a voice like a Weedgie-equivalent of Gordon when he's wound up...

Classic

More media-tarting tomorrow ...
HJ on BBC Radio Scotland 7:50 AM or thereabouts! ...

There are quite a few PoP threads littering various sub-forums on CC, as stickies, thanks to Admin
and quite a few CCers coming to join in the ride on Saturday

2 days go, and the madness that is PoP will be in the past ...
I wonder what they will come up with next
