I liked some of his videos, agreed with some stuff, disagreed with some stuff. I also think once you put your video up for everyone to see, this forum can be pretty brutal (wasn't there a guy from Sweden recently who got some flak until he pointed out he was alright to take a turn or something where he was?). Seems like there are people here who are just waiting to jump on you.

Anyway, can't blame him for not wanting to be around after some of the replies he got. FWIW I think he seems a decent stand up sort of guy. Maybe I wouldn't be shouting as much as he does, but I do know there have been times when I've shouted.

I do miss his videos in one respect -seems that some of the analysis was pretty good and did generate some good discussion.

I'm not a particular fan of magnatom, but I do think you chaps are hating on him in an unkind and unpleasant way, and you're berating him for what is totally normal behaviour for cyclists.

I've seen loads of you people shouting at motorists for their mistakes, and I thought it was entirely normal and justified. Remember that video where someone pulled out in front of a cyclist on here, "causing my mate to exclaim" was the polite version.

I'm still delighted with that G&R Wired left hook on another cyclist that I filmed. Apparently the dude knows dellzeqq and had a good old rant about it.
actually he was pretty chastened by the time we'd talked it through.

do you think people mourned your absence when you pushed off?

Not a bit of it. Why would they? I know nobody on this forum. I PM-ed a staff member asking to be de-registered.

I don't imagine anyone even noticed. Certainly nobody would have posted asking where I was.

A month or so later I re-registered and the pompous, vacuous fluffiness of my writing soon outed me as Bicycle.

At no time did any toys leave the pram. I'm not sure why you draw a comparison.

This is what you can do when you give up squabbling on this forum and go do something worthwhile.

That's me at around 5:40 haring down the road on the front of a semi-recumbent tandem with my guitar singing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". I had the most fun in a long time.

MASSIVE respect to magnatom and the rest of the PoP team.

Actually, I don't agree with this. If you really want to post vids it should all be there, warts and all. Interpreting some of these videos in some cases is pretty subjective anyway, and if you edit stuff out if it makes you look bad, you're not doing that.

Maniac? I wouldn't ever do the video stuff personally, but that's just me. He always comes (I suppose I should say "came", which is a shame!) across as an intelligent person with a strong agenda and a good sense of humour. I'm sorry he doesn't come here any more and I'd be glad to meet him.

Totally agree.

Magnatom is a very genuine guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and deserves great respect for the part he played in making Pedal on Parliament happen.
