Where'd The "B's" Go?

We've AAAA, AAA, AA, A, C & D Cell batteries, but no B's. Where'd they go? They must have been there at sometime or there'd be no gap now.

That looks like one of the old door bell batteries that we used to use in the old Wonder Light cycle lights.

I remember when AAs were called HP7s, and I think Cs were something like SP2s.

Ah, the bad old days of the British market using manufacturer-specific battery names - not even BS ones.

I thought this was B size, not the old 4.5v torch batteries:

Turns out my 4.5v battery I posted is actually 3 B cells strapped together. @mjr has it correctly. Although in my defence, @classic33 was talking about the plural.

That looks like one of the old door bell batteries that we used to use in the old Wonder Light cycle lights.

They used to call them Wonder because you ended up wondering where the bulb, the lens and the reflector had gone after they fell apart as you rode yet again.

I was serving in a shop once when someone with a stammer came in and asked for "A - a - a - a battery please".

I have a pen sized inspection torch, which takes 3 AAAA batteries,
Below next to a standard AAA battery for comparison.

The AAAA batteries are long dead, but haven't searched very hard to find replacements.
