It's like the Exxon Valdez has relaunched as a road-going tanker and spilt its load all over Sheffield today, at least on my route!

Coupled with a fair amount of surface water...

And why do they design these stupid indicators integrated around tail lights...okay, yes, my fault, I should have left more of a gap given the weather but I just couldn't see that the car in front had started to indicate - and when I braked the back wheel started to go its own way pushed by a heavy trailer - that was a hairy moment.

One of those awkayrd ones - leave enough space whilst keeping pace with traffic and following cars assume you are going "too slow" and tailgate / overtake and cut in, don't leave space and risk rear-ending something

Only trouble is if you leave space and someone fills it, you're too close again! Can't win sometimes....

The trailer is going to take some thought though...I'm pondering ways of increasing its load - although today shows that if I am going to increase the load capacity, I am going to have to do as for car trailers over a certain weight (750kg though I am going nowhere near that!!!) - and that's make it a braked trailer! Quite how to do that I'm not sure but my mind is turning to those BMX gyro headset doobries and the split cables

I have noticed recently all the rainbow patches on the road, mostly by roundabouts which seriously gives me the heebie jeebies.
on top of that a larger then normal amount of debris in cycle paths, stones, branches and leaves galore not to mention bits of car 0_o
re: integrated lights, i must admit it is difficult to see sometimes as the reds are very bright and you can't quite see the orange.

It's probably because the truckers can't afford maintenance, or they're brimming the tanks somewhere cheaper and it's sloshing about a bit.

Gaddafi is gone now, maybe oil prices will drop (Lol).

I have the same complaint about headlights with indicators in the same mounting - terrible to see.

Yes there seems to be a lot more of it around. As a recumbent triker it's not such an issue for me but yesterday our nearest roundabout was liberally coated in diesel!

I hate diesel just as much on the trike, mainly because it ends up splattered up the back of my neck and head!

Had an interesting moment a few weeks ago, coming up to a mini-roundabout I just didn't like the look of the road surface, it looked soaking wet on one side on a sunny dar & bone dry road. So I straight lined it over the centre & a few seconds latter I see a car plough straight into the kerb as the front end of the car just went straight on after the initial left jink.
