I'm considering a new audax bike. I think I have short listed a few. The Genesis croix de fer, Tifosi CK Veloce or Sora or a Dawes, don't know which model. Any advice?

I have a Dawes Century Se. Very comfortable, light for a steel bike (comes with carbon forks) definitely worth a look

You could always have a look at the Genesis Equilibrium range, i have the 20 and love it. very comfortable, light (carbon forks) and all the mounts you may need.

I think you have a couple of choices - do you want steel/ al or carbon? Discs or more traditional brakes and rack and pinion fittings? And finally budget.
The equilibrium is nice, and although I have one, I cant seem to get fitted on one.
The condor fratello is another good steel choice and I quite like the new trek domane, which promises to be comfortable.
Other choices include the Specialized Secteur, Tricoss and roubaix (which you get to choose depending on what your preferences are in the first paragraph).
My personal fav is the croix de fer but that's because I like simple, round, straight tubes.

Think I'm airing towards the equilibrum, we have a local stockist who also does fitting included. Going this week to check it out.
Except ones for racks.

Good point but I would imagine those resourceful audaxers would get round that.
If you have an lbs that does (proper) fitting then I'd look favourably in their direction - whatever bike they sell. Because, imho, it's more important that the bike fits and you're comfortable on it - so test ride if possible too.
There are no lemons in your list and, as you know from your other thread, you can audax on any pretty much any bike. You just have to decide on your wants in a bike (as mentioned above) and let the lbs do the rest. The make isn't so important - unless you want it to be of course, and there's nothing wrong with that!

P-clips help but you would still have to use one lot of eyelets for the mudguards and panniers. Kind of a last resort. I've had an equilibrium (wrote off) and ride a croix de fer at the moment. I would say that if you want a "do it all bike" get the croix de fer.
