Which bike rack/cycle carrier?

Without looking at all the options could some of you please recommend a suitable carrier for me. I want a carrier that fits onto the back of the car not on top,as i have a soft top/convertible. We're off on holiday to Norfolk soon, i want to experience the delights of flat no knackering hills cycling but i want to take my own bike and not hire one of those dreadful heavy as a blacksmith's anvil mountain bikes!
