Which bike rack to get

I am looking to start commuting to work again but it's a 36 mile round trip which is fine some days but not every day as I do shifts

So I am planning on getting a car rack so I can drive some of the way then cycle.

I have narrowed it down to two racks

The saris sentinel or the saris bones

Obviously one is more expensive than the other just looking for any advice on if it's worth paying more.


It will be attached to an Astra

Any advice on these racks or any other good ones at similar price would be appreciated.

Just watch the height limit on car parks, even outdoor ones. Seen it done !

To be honest I'm wanting to avoid a roof rack want one that fixes to boot

Saris bones is a good choice, it will fold down really easy to store in your boot during the day.

Anyone got the sentinel cause it's half the price of the bones
