Which Carbon framed bike -advice

Hi.
Just a thought here.
If you had say £200 deposit & an employer who does Cycle2Work scheme etc, you could get a v.nice cube agree gtc with (only) shimano 10 speed tiagra groupset for £1200 on C2W @ leisurelakesbikes.com.
I am looking into buying a cube peloton @ £1k from them.
As it stands I would save around 25% on tax/n.i contributions & if I join the VIP club would also get 5% off list price, thereby saving around £300.
It costs £30 for VIP membership but that includes an excellent MucOff bike kit worth more than £30 & savings on anything else I buy from them over the year.
I like hunting for upgrade parts anyway so the groupset doesn't bother me so much & IMHO you are better off spending you're hard earned - on a quality frame 1st & foremost.
Cubes are quite highly specced for the cash & highly regarded too.
I bought a carbon Sintesi Z2 - 3 months back from Tweeks Cycles in North Wales for £1500 - with full sram force, this was £1000 off list price & they have a sale on still $$.
Sintesi are an Italian brand not well known in U.K but are in rest of Europe.

Really got the road bug having bought a Specialized sectuar earlier this year. I now really fancy a carbon framed bike to upgrade to. Thinking of a 2013 model as a lot of the shops seem to be reducing the prices,

Forgot to mention that the leisure lakes cubes on C2W scheme are new 2014 models & the white red one looks the Mutz Nutz too. Other colours available (I think).
Also to bear in mind - you get much more bang 4 $ with Cube bikes than with Spech/Trek etc, & (if it bothers you) will stand out from the crowd of Giant/Trek/Specialized/Boardman lot too. Not that there is anything wrong with them you know.

Also to bear in mind - you get much more bang 4 $ with Cube bikes than with Spech/Trek etc, & (if it bothers you) will stand out from the crowd of Giant/Trek/Specialized/Boardman lot too. Not that there is anything wrong with them you know.

Also worth bearing in mind that Trek and Specialized are willing to stand behind their products with a life time frame warranty. Unlike Cube who offer only 3 years on carbon frames and are notoriously difficult to get replacement frames from. That rubbish warranty must save the company $ which they can pass onto the consumer which is a good thing unless your unlucky enough to have a problem with your frame.

Unfortunately, offering a 'lifetime warranty' is not the same as 'standing by it'. Trek are well known for doing all they can to avoid honouring their warranties, as a quick scan of google and other forums will reveal. Specialized are a lot better, tbf.

Thanks for the advice SteCenturion I'm just a bit put off with the cycle to work scheme. I got an Orange mtn bike on it and paid accordingly every month. At the end of the 12 months hire agreement finished they offered me the bike at a ridiculous high price so I paid the extended hire for two further years. It worked out that I would have been saving very little.

So I would rather buy the bike outright (0% credit card) and stop all the messing about.

Maybe I am a little behind the times on this thread but as a new member I am still 'feeling my way round' navigating the site.

If you like the secteur you`ll love a Roubaix. You can get the 2013 for reasonable money. If you go for the cheapest you will have an excellent frame worthy of upgrading, or spend a little more for one with 105 that will be good enough. (obviously, make sure you get the right size, the links are for prices only).

Thanks Paul still looking for the right bike and keep coming in back to the Spec. I do like the Roubaix just have to have a sit on one and see that it is as comfy as my Sectuar. I am not to bothered about the group set as long as its at least a 105.

Of the Specialized bikes I like & (there aren't many) - I would probably go for a Venge or Tarmac - just as they have a bit racier geometry, shorter head tube etc.
But it's all horses for courses really so I am sure when you're ready you will pick the right one for you.
Next up for me is the Cube Peloton Race, alloy, carbon fork.
If I had a well paid job then a Fondreist frame & fork would top my list.

Is this a 2014 model @ £1k ??
I like pretty much most Cube bikes Road & MTB.
The detailing & aesthetics are far better than anything else for the money, rhe spec is always very generous too.
I particularly love the 2014 GTC in white/red colour scheme with tiagra 10 speed although less highly specced than the Peloton Race with full 105 (aluminium frame, carbon fork) this will be N+1 SOOOOOoooon !!

Looking forward to picking it up next week and getting it on the turbo ( no way is it going out in this weather ha ha ) Hope to spend a long spring , summer out on it this year.
