Michelin Krylion Carbon 23s for commuting and training runs. No probs so far in 500 miles.
Nice fast grippy tyre.

Not enough miles to determine longevity, but enjoying them so far.

Marathons (32mm), Sport Contacts (28mm) or Michelin City (32mm) depending on bike/mood

All have pluses and minuses.

  • The marathons are good all-rounders but are not hawthorn hedge cuttings proof
  • Michelin Cities bomb-proof but a bit heavy
  • Sport Contacts also seem to puncture less on the thorns (my theory is they have no tread for the thorns to hide in before they get through the tyre) but don't handle too well with anything at all (mud, grit, leaves) on the road surface

Michelin Krylion Carbon 25s - not been on long and looking good so far.
Schwalbe Lugano - Not bad, but the rear tyre was showing lots of cuts and wear after 1000miles of commuting.

I used to run the cheap Vittoria Rubino's on the road bike (and probably still will later), but I had a spate of 4 or 5 punctures in short succession, after many months with none!

Anyway, that peeved'd me off enough to invest in some Durano+.

I now run Durano+ on two of my bikes (25 and 23's). Excellent tyre for commuting.

Great fast tyre for road bikes, these. I have these on my carbon bike on my 'standard' wheels and the tubular versions on my deep section carbon wheels.

I was recommended these by my LBS for the winter. They were very reasonably priced and great on ice and snow.
Now the weather's getting milder, i've noticed they they're pretty low resistance and they corner well.
Also, i've not had a single visit from the PF since I put them on, so i'm a little reluctant to chance them back to my slicks now!

Marathons in 32mm on my usual commute bike (hybrid). I'll probably go for M+ next time for added puncture resistance, and might go up to 35mm given the state of some of the local roads. Used 38mm snow studs in the depths of winter but took them off at the end of January

I've just picked up some 32mm Continental Touring tyres for a bargain from Ribble. The are the predecessor to their Top Contact tyre but look identical to me (I have a Top Contact tyre on another bike). Highly recommended for decent tarmac performance that can also handle offroading.
