Can you use a dinghy in Coventry? If expecting a very wet winter, maybe an ark would be appropriate?

Here's a list of some of the bikes I've considered. I may have forgotten some.

Whyte Dorset, Genesis Vapor, Genesis CdF, Kona Jake, Marin Lombard, Giant TCX, Trek Crossrip, Cannondale CAADX, Focus Mares, Cube Cross Race, B'Twin Cyclo-X, Pinnacle Arkose, Roux Conquest.

I had a similar shortlist, think I discounted the Spesh for having Sora and being more attractive to a bike thief. Cube would have been my second choice after Genesis but I'm glad I went with the Vapour Disc now. The new Kona looks pretty.

I think the Whyte Dorset is more road than CK. Their CX range is (or was) the Kings Cross, Charing Cross, Saxon Cross

You can get a full Carbon Planet X road bike with Ultegra for that price.

Steve

Yeah but it will be a poor carbon frame and they charge you an extra £100 (10%) for using the voucher. Also its not full Ultegra groupset, they will stuck a piece of Ultegra and the rest will be FSA iirc.

edit: as it sounded arsey

So which of those claims do you know for sure Leodis? I dont mind reading tried and tested claims but speculation without any substance is not worth anything.

I dont have a planet X bike but I have yet to read a bad review of them. In fact it is hard to find anything but very good reviews about them.

Personally, I wasn't saying it is a bad bike for the money - just it doesn't meet what the OP was looking for
