Which computer (sensor) would fit!

Having returned the interference prone wireless computer I decided to take my old Halfords 8 function one off the MTB and put it on the new road bike.

Trouble is that as the forks are pretty close to the wheel there isn't clearance to put the sensor on the inside of the fork (about 0.5mm too little) and have the magnet pass it. The wireless one was so large that it sat side on to the fork, tilted towards the wheel.

I doubt that my bike is unique in the situation, so before I order one can anyone advise me what wired computers would fit?

I know a Garmin Edge would sort it but having just bought the bike I can't afford one

You don't have to mount the sensor on the inside of the fork, I get away with mounting mine facing forward, just so long as it is close enough to the magnate to sense that it there. BTW I have a VDO...

Like HJ says, I mounted one that needed offsetting on the radius of the forks - looks precariously balanced but has stayed put for a couple of thousand miles.
