Franke Detori faces a long worldwide riding ban for failing a drug test in France last week so which one do we think it is? It's pretty obvious to have been Lasix which he freely admits taking lots of prior to its ban so I reckon this has been a last desperate throw of the dice from him to try and recapture his fast-fading form.

Isn't it the horses that need testing for dope??

No wonder there are so few positive tests in horse racing. The damn testers don't know what they are doing.

Turns out to have been cocaine! I always wondered how he stayed so happy and exuberant. I read that his horse has been accused of using grass.

Interesting that he was caught in France. The previous high-profile doping case, Fallon, also came after he rode in France. Perhaps the French are a bit keener when it come to dope testing.

from the BBC site...

His solicitor, Christopher Stewart-Moore, has said the inquiry, by France Galop, will begin next week.
"There are a large variety of substances which are banned by France Galop," Stewart-Moore told BBC Sport.

Why do Jockies have to take dope tests ?
Surely it does not make any difference, it's the horse that is doing the work
