Which EV would you get?

I had to do business trips with a guy who loved driving. He had a company BMW and would take it to track days. It was bloody awful travelling anywhere with him as he'd drive enthusiastically. So much so that he wore out his mudflaps. Give me a driver who just sees the car as a thing to get from A to B any day.

Following surgery I was getting lifts to work with another bobby who'd been a karting champion as a kid. I swear the car spent more time travelling sideways than it did forwards!

Read theirs a 10 month waiting list for a custom ID.Polo
You can't test drive one yet so odds on thats a fair number that will be available second hand quickly when those ordering decide they do not like it.

But why won’t they like them?
Perhaps they’re committed buyers coming from a previous Polo or even an ID.3

Reviews so far are very favourable and it looks ‘familiar’ and car like rather than a large SUV which will appeal to many.

Typically 20-40% (according to Google) who test drive a car decide against it.

But there’s a key difference between test driving a car and putting a deposit down/pre-ordering?

I’ve test driven many cars and not purchased but never ordered one and cancelled it !

Ive ordered a car and cancelled it, just the once. We decided to move house and I wanted to stay as liquid as possible during the process for ovvious reasons, so cancelled. Got my deposit refunded a few days later when another buyer gleefully took my place in the lengthy queue.

I know someone who ordered an Audi R8 after a heavy night out, and before bed.
That was an expensive cancellation.

Anyway, this is what we were replying to...

I've walked away after my car arrived at the dealership. Dealer Principal changed whilst the car was on order and when it arrived the deal was simply unpalatable. No big deal either way because it was a car that would sell for the dealer all day long, which was I think very much what was in their mind when they did the dirty.

No I haven’t but then I’ve never bought a car so new to the market that there hasn’t been any physical stock.

But that is exactly what is happening here.

It is certain that some of these people who have pre ordered, when they actually get to drive one will not like it.
