Which faculty do you think will fail first when you get old?

Eyes. My Mum is 76 and is pretty much blind now - can only see light and shadow. My sight keeps deteriorating (I'm 38 now), so I reckon that is what is in store for me.

My critical faculty.

That must be the reason for so many old folk reading the Daily Mail, no?

Short (and medium) term memory are somewhat lacking nowadays. I'm definitely not safe out (or in) without my specs on. Lungs are mostly shot (too many fags, and working with asbestos - 50 years ago). Circulation seems to be a bit dodgy (hands and feet get cold in temperatures that didn't have that effect years ago). Bowel and a bit of tubing may need a bit of 'attention' (depending on the results of some sort of scan - due shortly). A lot of muscle seems to have vanished (but at least I don't have any flabby bits). I still think of myself as a happy go lucky 30 odd year old (which has been known to cause slight embarrassment in some circles). I still go about life with gusto ... more or less
