I'm currently looking for a better frame. I have no narrowed it down to 2 frames but i am unsure of which one to go for. The first is a New Giant TCR composite which i've found for 475. The second is the BMC SLX, it's used but VG condition and i can have it for 400. The BMC isn't full carbon and the frame size is 56 (i'm 6'3 but he said that would be fine as he's 6 1 and fits well. The Giat is M/L so is fine. I am a big guy (around 16 stone so not sure if weight would be a factor). The only other thing is that the giant is BB30 and I currently have an Ultegra chainset with FSA ceramic bb which I will have to get rid of and purchase a different type for the giant. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :-)

maybe a personal taste thing. imho the giant frames look great.
but i wonder if a ML is too small for a 6'3"er. i mean im a smidge under 6 and have a ML and i wouldnt want to be any taller on it.

Sorry I havent read the thread...been away this weekend. I wanted to change my frame as I have an old Orbea aqua and it's just a bit too old now and also a tad big for me (60cm). I have decided which frame and gone for the BMC SLX01. I think the Giant would have been too small and I also wasn't bothered about having full carbon. The BMC had great reviews and just bit the bullet and went for it. Should get it in a few days so can't wait. Thanks for the replies :-)

A 56cm frame for a 6' 3" person is in most cases going to be too small, it will be too short. I base this on general geometry charts seen over recent years, some geometries will buck the trend, but even roughly taking into account variance of measuring techniques and geometry between manufacturers, a 56cm is likely too small, generally speaking.
At 6'3" you are looking at a 58-60cm frame, depending on the proportions of your limbs relative to your torso.
