Which grease do you use on your bike?

I use "3 in 1" oil for general moving parts and use my motorbike high speed chain lube for the chain.

I use whatever i've managed to blag for free or was on offer .
Currently working my way through a huge tub i got from Wilkos' that cost me £2. Would thorough recommend Pace compound paste for Seatposts if i had to suggest one.

Finish Line Dry/XC in summer/winter on chain
Lithium in bearings
Copper on pedal threads
GT85 on jockey wheels and mechs
All of the above on the bottom of my trousers because I refuse to buy proper kit.

I use waterproof grease - got a big tub of it from halfords.

Depends what one is greasing.

And in some cases what type of frame material you have e.g. carbon to carbon parts (e.g. seatposts)are supposed require special grease to stop slippage and seizing.

I use special Ti anti seize grease on my Ti frames.

General lubing.........for summer 'race' bikes I use Finish Line Pro road or White Lightening All Condition lube (very thin) for chain and mech pivots etc. The Pro Road stuff does tend to get a bit gungy if you use too much tho.

Most BB's are sealed for the life of the unit these daze so don't require lube (some of the newer ceramic ones do tho).

For winter bike I use some spray stuff made by Boeing which I can't remember the name of. Bit heaveir duty than the stuff for summer.

Finish Line Pro Road on chain.
Weldtite Chain Oil on spoke threads, inner cables.
GT85 on derailleur pivot points.

Finish Line Waterproof teflon enhanced stuff for parts/bearings - very good stuff - the waterproof bit is true.

Copper slip for threads.

I use Weltite Teflon blah blah etc. grease for pedal threads, bolts etc. and Finish Line Wet for the chain.

Must get some dry stuff for the Speedplays...

For us normal mortals with proper metal bikes grease is grease. I use lithium based grease from Earnest Doe's. If it is good enough to keep tractors and combines etc going in all kinds of conditions then it is alright for bike bearings, which are steel balls in steel cups anyway. Normal, as opposed to fancy priced so called specialised greases, have done my bikes for the last 50 odd years and will carry on doing so.

I am no Luddite, and know that there are some areas where specialised lubricants are advisable, but not on any bike I can afford!!
